About Kate Mayer
Kate Mayer is a London-based abstract artist whose work explores the intersection of energy, emotion, and design. Her expressive paintings are created in response to sound, from spoken word and music to bespoke soundscapes, translating rhythm and vibration into layered colour and movement.
Guided by the belief that energy can never be destroyed, only transformed, Mayer’s process captures the unseen, turning sound into visual form. Her signature circular compositions act as portals that evoke reflection and presence, creating a dialogue between sight, sound, and feeling. Each piece carries its own energetic resonance, designed to enhance both the space it inhabits and the experience of those who encounter it.
Originally from the far north of England, Mayer has made London her home for nearly three decades. Her work has been exhibited in leading London venues including solo shows in 54 The Gallery and COYA Mayfair, and sells to collectors worldwide. She was also a finalist in the 2025 VAA Artist of the Year Award.
